Twelve Things Fred Will Fight For

• Restore the ACA tax credits. Bring back the subsidies Congress let expire, after premiums for subsidized Missourians more than doubled.

• Cap insulin at $35 a month for everyone. Extend the senior cap to people with private insurance.

• Cap drug costs at $2,100 a year. Bring Medicare's out-of-pocket cap to private plans so illness doesn't mean bankruptcy.

• Give family caregivers a tax credit. Up to $5,000 for the working families carrying the cost of caring for a parent or spouse.

• Let families use pre-tax accounts for a parent's care. Your HSA should cover your mom, not just your kids.

• Let Medicare negotiate more drug prices. Build on a program already lowering prices for seniors.

• Let people buy into Medicare early. "Lose your job at fifty-eight and you're buying insurance in the worst market there is. Let people buy into Medicare early. They pay the premium. It's an option, not a handout."

• Get cheaper generics to market faster. End the patent games that block lower-cost competition.

• Kill surprise medical bills. Enforce the ban so an out-of-network bill never blindsides a family again.

• Get medical debt off credit reports. Stop a doctor's bill from wrecking your credit and your shot at housing.

• Fix prior authorization. Stop insurers from overruling your doctor with red tape.

• Cut the home care waiting lists. Let seniors age at home instead of waiting years for help or being pushed into a nursing home.
